SLC Tim Hortons closed for long weekend; free coffee at Turnkey
Although a Food Advisory Board decision on a modified summer schedule had been postponed, UW Food Services closed the SLC Tim Hortons this weekend. Outside Tim Hortons a sign says that it closed 7:00 pm on Friday 19 May and will reopen 7:00 am Tuesday 23 May. Another sign says that Food Services the operator of Tim Hortons will provide free coffee through the Turnkey desk while the outlet is closed.
By closing the SLC Tim Hortons, Food Services is not complying with their agreement with Feds which states that "Any change in the operating hours, [...] will require the approval of the Food Advisory Board before those changes are implemented."
While the agreement may also require Feds approval for changes to the hours, it explicitly states that FAB approval is required for such changes.

I stopped by the Feds office this afternoon. Michelle showed me the sheets of the petition. I counted 209 signatures on the petition.
I was not able to verify the signatures, but I excluded ones like "I love timmies," "Name:Dr. Program:Medecine," and "There were alot of people here."
Michelle showed me the sheets of the petition.
What is the content of the petition? I imagine it's something along the lines of "we want Tim Hortons to be open 24 hours" but actual wording would be nice too.
Yeah, good call. I forgot that I reported the text of the petition on my own website and that it wasn't included here. Here is the text of the petition:
Are you upset that Tim Horton’s is closed this weekend?
Do you wish that Tim Horton’s was open this weekend?
(May 19, 7pm until May 23 at 7:300am)
If so, please write your name, Student Number/Department and the time you visited Tim Horton’s below:
The text of the petition is as follows:
Do you OPPOSE the hours of operation for the Student Life Centre Tim Horton’s proposed by Food Services (listed above)?
If so, please write your name, Student Number/Department and the time you visited Tim Horton’s below
There is a petition on the Feds Office door (opposite Tim Hortons) if you wish to sign the petition outside Feds office hours. All signatures must be in before the FAB Meeting on Wednesday 31 May.
How many free coffees did Food Services end up paying for?
