Feds will take over student health plan: Butalid
Feds will take over the student health plan starting this September according to an e-mail from Fed VPAF Renjie Butalid sent on Thursday.
Currently University of Waterloo holds the policy for the health plan and Feds holds a policy for the dental plan. Feds will move the health plan to the company that administered the dental plan when it was introduced last year.
He said that the move was to streamline the plans, "In order to streamline both dental and health plans, the Feds Board of Directors felt it was essential that the Federation of Students become the policy holders for both health and dental plans and that we have one administrator, studentcare.net/works."
In his e-mail Butalid announced this motion from the Feds Board of Directors:
BIRT the Federation of Students will be the policyholder for both health
and dental plans effective September 1, 2006.BIFRT the Federation of Students Board of Directors appoints
studentcare.net/works as the exclusive agent/broker of record/administrator
of the student health and dental plans for all fulltime undergraduate
students at the University of Waterloo
What sorts of changes will students notice under the new system?
What changes will there be that students will not notice?
