Benesch, who is Miss Oktoberfest 2005, has been active in sports since the age of five when she started playing all-star ringette.

Three people were chosen from this area to move on to the national competition, and she was the overall winner of that small group, taking the title of Miss Western Ontario.
Benesch hopes to fast-track her way into the top 15 of the 30 contestants, and one of the ways this can be done is by raising the most money for the Rock Solid Foundation, an organization that implements bullying-prevention programs in schools.
If she wins this week's competition, Benesch will advance to the Miss World 2006 competition, which will be held in Poland.
