UW eyes Stratford campus [The Record]

The Record is reporting that Stratford City Council approved a the idea of locating a satellite campus of Waterloo for liberal arts. The story says that a decision on whether to proceed should made in three to six months.

The University of Waterloo is working with the City of Stratford and the Stratford Festival to see if it will open a liberal arts college in the city.

Yesterday, Stratford city council approved a "non-binding memorandum of agreement" indicating it would take a serious look at locating a liberal arts college in that city.

Johnston said work on the agreement began in May when Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson approached him during a meeting of the Southwest Economic Assembly.

What's up with all these Satellite campuses? We have one in Cambridge, one is Kitchener, now possibly one in Stratford, and there's the possibility of the one in the UAE. Soon, we'll be like Starbucks: a UW on every block.
