Feds board commits to calling referendum

FEDERATION OF STUDENTS BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO CALL REFERENDUM ON BUS PASS

Non-refundable pass will be put to students in March 2007

WATERLOO, ON (January 22) - The Federation of Students Board of Directors
has committed to call a referendum on the issue of a Universal Bus Pass in
March, 2007. The unanimous decision was reached in response to clear student
interest in the issue and the need to more fully prepare the service and
logistical details necessary to implement a non-refundable bus pass.

Housing maps are back!. 4 months of down time did them well. I've had some extra time over the co-op term and gave them a refresh. More features will follow, but all the basic functionality has returned. Hopefully people will find this tool helpful in their upcoming housing search.

The Federation of Students Remembers Janet Yip

Waterloo: The Federation of Students today sends its condolences to the
family of Janet Yip, 2006-2007 Engineering Councillor, who passed away in
Kingston on Wednesday November 29th after a short battle with acute
leukemia.

Dig It: Requiem for a Green

An outdoor beginning of term party to say farewell to the B2 green with music from UW DJs and bands, food and drink, and of course you. Party on the green before it disappears.

Soon bulldozers and backhoes will destroy the field and make way for an MC-sized building. In Spring 2007, construction of the new Quantum Nano building will begin. Dig It: Requiem for a Green is a chance for everyone at University of Waterloo to enjoy the B2 Green one last time. With support from the Federation of Students, EngSoc, MathSoc, AHSUM, SciSoc we have been able to assemble 15 Djs and 6 Band--all UW talent.

B2 Green Event Looking for Help

A group of people from the UWDJ Club has been working on a event on and for the B2 Green.

The B2 Green is going away. There will be a building placed on top of it. Ground is breaking in Spring 2007, and there isn't much we can do about that, but we can at least give the green proper farewell. The idea is to showcase UW bands and UW DJs at a night to remember.

Travis and Ian's socially responsible T-shirt business

University of Waterloo students Ian Cole and Travis Sedore sent in a message about their socially-responsible apparel business called Screenager.

Council rejected one of the GLOW service review recommendations

Council did not pass what was probably the most controversial recommendation from the service review. Today, it finally considered recommendations from the Feds service review which was performed last fall and presented 15 January 2006.
